by -

With news of Blur’s cancellation from Australian music festival, Big Day Out, Wolfmother were quick to offer their serviced to replace the group. Blur were supposed to play in-between Arcade Fire and Pearl Jam and Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale had this to say on the group’s official Facebook page:

“Hello Everyone,

We hear there’s a slot available at BDO, Ah… How can I say this? On Behalf of the band and myself, may I say we’re keen!

Go to www.facebook.com/bigdayout and put in the good word for Wolfmother!!!!!”

While the post was taken down shortly after, the associate Editor from Rolling Stone Indonesia, Hasief Ardiasyah, took a screenshot of the post and shared it via Twitter.

Big Day Out is an annual music festival that is held in Australia and will take place in the following cities: Auckland, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.
