Watch Josh Homme & Iggy Pop’s Stephen Colbert Performance

Watch Josh Homme and Iggy Pop on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert below!

Josh Homme and Iggy Pop will release a collaboration titled Post Pop Depression on March 18th. “We paid for whatever ourselves,” Pop told the New York Times. “But it was made to be heard — not to be some quirky thing that we did with our own money.”

The Stooges singer said Homme “took me to a place I’d never been,” while the Queens of the Stone Age mastermind added: “This was to go where neither of us had gone before. That was the agreement. And to go all the way.”

“There won’t be hardly any shows, and they won’t be in big places, and you won’t be able to get a ticket,” Homme said. “It will be like trying to catch smoke in your hands. And that makes it even better. It will be special, and it will be over in the blink of an eye.”

Love this song. Going to be massive in Europe, and over-compared to Homme’s other bands, by US dicks. “Deep ass. deep ass.”

  • Jimmy Intense

Very good song…thank you Bowie for saving Iggy’s life all those years ago. Really looking forward to the rest of the album!

  • Junior Moore

    Uhhhh…what? This is horrible.

  • Ishmael

i find that song to be totally boring. Unfortunately. I usually love iggy’s and josh’s stuff

  • God

Did Iggy punch Josh in the mouth at some point in the recording process? Cause he is missing a bottom front tooth!

  • enviroman63

Just not very intersting or entertaining to listen to at all. With the exception for the most die hard Iggy Fans

Very hypnotic. Reminds me of some stuff Iggy and Bowie did years ago, both skinny guys with low voices. Kudos to Josh for the harmony. Lyrically seems like a traditional girl lust/love song, although I had to laugh at Iggy crooning about the “cheapo hotel by the highway to hell.”
It was pretty mesmerizing to watch them do this live. Listening to it again now, Iggy sounds like Boris Karloff!

Gardenia is growing on me a bit, agree that it does sound a bit hypnotic.

It doesn’t really do anything for me. I like the music OK and whatever pedal effect they’re using on the guitar in the background, but otherwise it isn’t very interesting. Too long, too.

  • Ted Nugent

did josh leave his front tooth in the dessert too or what
is the black eye is symbolic for the blacken liver? lol
