TRACKLISTING FOR REISSUE OF NIRVANA’S NEVERMIND

For Nirvana fans who didn’t quite feel they got enough with the massively extensive four-disc With The Lights Out rarities release a few years ago, a Deluxe 20th Anniversary Edition of Nirvana’s Nevermind is due to arrive in September, with a very extensive selection of tracks.

A digital/CD remaster of the original album, a 2-CD Deluxe Edition (complete with B-Sides, pre-Nevermind demos captured at Butch Vig’s Smart Studios, lo-fi rehearsals, etc.), and a limited-edition Super Deluxe Edition will be made available for fans of varying walled size. The Super Deluxe includes all of the above along with the Devonshire Mixes version of the album produced and mixed by Vig (which is different than the commercial/released version mixed by Vig with Andy Wallace) as well as a CD/DVD of the band’s Halloween 1991 show at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre, a 90-page bound book, the four original Nevermind videos and more.

While rehearsal sessions are rare, it demands noting that the Nevermind package arrives without a single new song or previously unheard track. There’s absolutely no value whatsoever found in the reissue, in terms of musical stones left unturned within the band’s history. But hey, a book!

The reissued Nevermind hits Sept. 27 via Universal. The Deluxe and Super Deluxe Editions will also be available as downloads. The Paramount concert will also be available in various versions: Blu-ray, DVD, and digital long form video.

Thanks to Paul:

  • http://www.twitter.com/six7six7 Joe

    i hope that:

    1. Courtney Love doesn’t see a dime from this.

    and

    2. It sells less copies that Pearl Jam’s re-release of Ten

  • Robert

Must buy if you are Nirvana but hopefully Dave and Krist get all the money from it.

  • Aaron

    frickin great!

  • JD

i hope courtney gets a good fair portion. if i died at 27 i would want the girl i fucked and loved to make what ever money she can off my name. Joe has never been in love so sad.

  • Matt from DC

    all 3 get paid

  • Guy

    I agree with Joe.
However, I think this shows the difference between major and independent labels. I have the 20th anniversary deluxe edition of Bleach on vinyl, I even got a download code with it for the album free on mp3, this coming from Sub Pop. But from what I can tell, DGC/Universal doesn’t want anything to do with vinyl for the deluxe Nevermind.

  • Anth

@Guy Huh? There’s a 4-LP version (of the first two CDs) as well.

  • Iso

Fuck you JD, Joe is right, Courtney shouldn’t get DICK from this. Being
in love’ has nothing to do with it. The fuck’s the matter with you. “Nevermind” came long before that tramp came into Kurt’s life, thus she doesn’t get a piece of it. And everyone knows he was going to break up with her before she had him killed… Period.

  • Guy

    @ Anth
Okay thanks for that information, I wasn’t aware. Sorry for the rant Universal Music, there are many problems with your label but you’re alright for this issue.

  • Murphy

I wonder why the Studio version of Endless, Nameless ain’t on the CD’s

  • JD

Iso, did you just take a shit on the keyboard or are you allowing parts of your brain to not access reality. kurt and courntey were together since 89. now read what you just said.

  • Tommy

Totes, Murphy… where the fuck is Endless, Nameless? And where can we pre-order it from? Is there an official Nirvana site?

  • Waldo

JD, Nirvana began in 1987. Still, as the owner of Kurt’s estate Courtney is legally entitled to money from this. Also, Endless Nameless wasn’t mixed by Butch Vig. It was mixed by the band.

  • ed

Stupid re-release. I wouldn’t spend a single dime on this shit.

  • Anth

Someone on a Nirvana board calculated the run time of disc 1 with “Endless, Nameless” (but without the blank space) and it turned out to be 78 minutes, which would make sense. I think it’d be pretty crappy if they just put it on the same track as “Something in the Way” though; without the silence, it just won’t have the same impact and more importantly, in the age of iPods it makes no sense to do that.

  • muthafuthinASH

    …want.

  • JD

@waldo: THIS album was released in 91 there for im very much correct good sir

  • VS

These were Kurt’s songs, not Dave or Krist’s. Courtney, as Kurt’s wife, receives his possessions when he dies. It’s not rocket science. Most will just steal the album by downloading it illegally anyway, so there’s probably little money in it at the end of the day.

  • Dan

Personally, I am very excited about this release. I have it pre-ordered through amazon for $141 and some change. Does anyone know somewhere to get it cheaper?

Finally, I really hope that we get a similar release for In Utero in two years.

  • Mills

I’m mostly interested in the DVD or maybe the cheapest version that includes the DVD. The Paramount show was EPIC !!
