Former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri has announced the upcoming release of his sophomore album, Leave Me Alone, set for release this September via Schnitzel Records. The artist’s second record follows 2004’s debut album Demolition Day and his 2009 covers album Death Acoustic, as well as work with Kyuss Lives! and Mondo Generator.
Oliveri produced the album and performed every instrument on it, but also collaborated with Marc Diamond and Blag Dahlia of Dwarves, Phil Campbell of Motörhead, Bruno Fevery of Kyuss Lives!, and Dean Ween.
The bassist is currently on tour with hardcore punk band Bl’ast!, also featuring ex-QOTSA drummer Joey Castillo. This fall, Oliveri will perform solo tour dates as well as tour dates with Uncontrollable, his band with Castillo and Blag Dahlia. He recently told Kerrang! Magazine that he’ll be opening for Queens of the Stone Age at their Los Angeles Halloween show, and will also be playing a “short set” with his former band at the end of the concert.

Josh Homme recently discussed his relationship with longtime friend and ex-Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri. In an interview with MTV, Homme revealed that “[he and Nick] have been friends since a couple weeks after everything went down,” referring to Oliveri’s dismissal from Queens of the Stone Age in 2004.
Homme told MTV that recording backup vocals with Oliveri for the band’s new album …Like Clockwork was casual and easy, and that “it’s nice to know someone since you were a little kid, and still know them.”
