Beck and surviving Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear covered David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold The World” at Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy party last night. This was the first time the surviving Nirvana members performed together since their 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, and the first time they covered “The Man Who Sold The World” since Kurt Cobain’s death in 1994.
Kelsey Rohr, the girl from the “Heart Shaped Box” video, also reunited with Dave Grohl last week.
“Today Dave Grohl and I picked up right where we left off 23 years ago on set of Nirvana’s last music video ‘Heart-Shaped Box’” Rohr wrote as the caption for a selfie of her and Grohl. “Today reminded me that I peaked at 6 years old BUT I was the most badass kid on the playground. Today was the absolute coolest. Or in Dave’s words seeing each other today was a “historic moment”! What a legend!!”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Beck has revealed a new music video for “Heart Is A Drum,” a track off his latest studio LP Morning Phase. The music video was directed by veteran director Sophie Muller and recalls the music video for Beck’s 1994 hit “Loser,” featuring a 1990s Beck look-alike in a white suit, two astronauts, and a grim reaper.
The nostalgia-inducing video, shot in black and white, is a moving tribute to Beck’s prolific career. Beck recently stopped by Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report and performed the tune as well as Song Reader‘s ‘Heaven’s Ladder,” which you can view here.

Last night, Beck visited Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report and sat down with host Stephen Colbert to discuss his latest studio album Morning Phase and his recently released Song Reader.
When asked to define his music’s sound, Beck replied that it’s “gentle dub cool-out lounge banjo” and joked that Morning Phase is “good for massages and aroma therapy.” In addition to his interview, Beck performed Morning Phase single “Heart Is A Drum” as well as “Heaven’s Ladder” from Song Reader.
