Join in Cascade Land Conservancy’s Seattle-Area PJ Carbon Mitigation Events
Pearl Jam partnered with Cascade Land Conservancy (CLC) to mitigate carbon emissions from the band’s 2009 world tour. This partnership utilizes CLC’s Green City Program to mitigate carbon through the restoration of 33 acres of urban forests in Seattle, Kent, Kirkland and Redmond.
CLC invites you to join in two upcoming events that will kick off several volunteer projects to take place with this partnership:
1) Saturday, February 26 at Discovery Park in Seattle
2) Saturday, March 5 at Hartman Park in Redmond
Both events last from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Crews have been out working hard to remove all of the invasive plants at the Discovery and Hartman sites- and now they are ready for some extra hands to help in planting native trees and shrubs. Dress for the weather and come prepared to get your hands dirty. Long pants and sleeves, sturdy shoes and a water bottle are highly recommended. Coffee and snacks will be provided.
