  • King Cornell

A photobook of just the last two years? Not a true retrospective like RHCP did? Ok I’ll just call it for what it is: a money-grab. The same 20 songs in concerts. An album “almost done” for about 14 months. This would have been the PERFECT time to release the b-sides album. I have a lingering fear they are keeping that in their back pocket in case they call it quits in the next couple years and want to fend off an openly hostile fanbase.

  • King Cornell

Huge SG fan, don’t get me wrong, but like everyone else, there are some times when I feel like they take advantage of our very generous patience. Trust me, I agree they should take as much time as they need and they should be independent and not listen to random people like me, but then there is just outright deception. News on the new album’s progress and the b-sides album are just hot air in my mind until it is in my hands. Call it cynicism but I just call it learning how to deal with bands like SG that have never exactly won awards for clear communication and dialogue with fans.

oh mayan, do you view caps as your trademark? I thought you were a big boy now, but you clearly are enjoying diapers…

  • http://deleted SuperSG

I agree with both of you, but you both know its coming out during the schoolyear, so be patient a month longer. We will see ‘BREAKING NEWS: NEW SOUNDGARDEN SINGLE ‘enter title here’ PEAKS AT #1 ON ROCK CHARTS ONLY ONE WEEK AFTER RELEASE on Bretts site. Its all about holding on for just a little bit longer.

  • Kyle

Not to be a dick King Cornell, but this is a fan based project, not a band offical one…

  • Junior

    ^^^What Kyle said. Lmao @ “a money-grab.”

  • Lennart

haha, what you guys said, LOL.

  • M.

    kyle’s right

the photobook isn’t by Soundgarden or licensed by soundgarden. it’s a fanbook made by fans only and compiled of submissions — the proceeds weren’t really an aim for the book but they’ve decided mutually (the creators/photographers at Spoondog and the Cornell foundation) that the funds will go to the Cornell foundation. photofantasm doesn’t have a licensed connection to soundgarden and its distributors and the band has little to do with it except supporting it. the decision to donate proceeds was on the photographers/fans, not by the band. it’s not a product in their merch catalog whatsoever.
