Live Are Working On A New Album

Guitarist Chad Taylor of Live has recently revealed on his Facebook page the band were snowed in their studio during Winter Storm Jonus in York, Pennsylvania, which gave them an opportunity to write and record new music.  However, currently there have been no plans revealed for a new release.

Live’s last album was 2014’s very underrated eighth studio album The Turn, which many fans considered their best effort since 1997’s Secret Samhadi. The Turn is also the band’s first album featuring Chris Shinn on vocals, replacing founding member Ed Kowalczyk who left the band in November 2009 in a seemingly bitter departure.  Shinn was previously the lead vocalist of Unified Theory which also featured former Pearl Jam drummer Dave Krusen and Blind Melon members Christopher Thorn and Brad Smith.

i really hoped for more on Shinn’s 1st disc with them. I’m hoping the next one is better.

I liked the Turn album; I thought Shinn did a great job on it. It proved they didn’t need Egomaniac Ed like he led everyone to believe they did

Didn’t Ed try to reconcile with them a few years ago or something? Pretty sure I read that, and the other three original members basically told him to go fuck himself. Best answer possible

No Ed Kowalczyk = no interest from me. I can’t stand 2nd vocalists usually. Brian Johnson, Chester in STP, etc.

Yea, but Live’s last three or four albums with Ed were bland beyond belief. A lot of people said it was because he demanded to take over all songwriting duties, in addition to trying to screw the other three out of publishing money.

I think the most telling piece of evidence of how big of a pompous egomaniac he is would be the cover of Live’s “At The Paradiso” live album. Take a look at this album cover and tell me what’s wrong with this picture…
