Former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri and drummer Joey Castillo have joined hardcore punk band Bl’ast! for their summer touring lineup. The legendary Santa Cruz punk rock outfit are currently on tour, featuring original vocalist Clifford Dinsmore and guitarist Mike Neider, as well as the former QOTSA rhythm section.

Bl’ast!’s tour marks the first time Oliveri and Castillo have toured together since Oliveri’s dismissal from Queens of the Stone Age in 2004. Oliveri says of the new lineup: “It is an honor to play with Mike, Clifford, and I’m really stoked to be playing with Joey C again. We are gonna kill it.”

Oliveri recently told Kerrang! Magazine that he’ll be performing “a short set” with Queens of the Stone Age this Halloween at the Forum in Los Angeles.  He also stated that his upcoming solo acoustic project, Uncontrollable, will feature Dwarves’ Blag Dahlia and Joey Castillo on drums.
