In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter about his upcoming book Letters to Kurt, former Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson said Courtney Love reached out to him to make new music together, but things didn’t work out. The classic Hole 90’s lineup of Courtney Love, Eric Erlandson, Melissa auf der Maur, and Patty Schemel briefly reunited for a Q&A at the premiere of Schemel’s film Hit So Hard last year. Since 2009 Courtney has been touring and releasing music under the Hole name with a new lineup:
Erlandson said he hasn’t talked to Love about the book; the former colleagues clashed over control of Hole after the group’s 2002 breakup. He was not included in Hole’s 2010 album, Nobody’s Daughter, though Love has since asked him to make music together again.
But Erlandson wasn’t feeling it, saying, “I felt like there was no transformation in our relationship at all.” He’s on good terms with former Hole bandmates Patty Schemel and Melissa Auf der Maur.
