Chad Channing Says He Wants To Reunite With Nirvana

Bleach era Nirvana drummer Chad Channing told NME in a recent interview that he is open to reuniting with the band.

“Yeah, if they wanted me to. It’d maybe be something like Dave playing guitar and singing and Krist doing bass. That’d be about the only arrangement I could think of that we cold pull off.”

Nirvana reunited for two performances in April at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and at the St. Vitus club. Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl, and Pat Smear performed with several guest singers. Channing attended but was not inducted, and also did not perform.

It’s a nice thought Chad, but Nirvana died with Kurt Cobain. It wouldn’t even sound like Nirvana. Kurt wrote most if not all of the songs, Dave sang backing on Come As You Are, showed the riff for Scentless Apprentice, the whole band composed Aneurysm. But that’s about it. It would mostly be Dave’s vision.

Well that was the dumbest question of the century. Of course he would. Why wouldn’t he? What’s he got going on? He knows as well as the rest of us though, that’s a pipe dream. Grohl would never call a band he fronted & played guitar, “Nirvana”. I just couldn’t ever see him doing that… Maybe as another project, but again, pipe dream for dude

Hey Brett, arise fool! This will never, ever, and I mean… NEVER… happen. What a pipe dream!
