Butch Vig said there’s an unfinished song called “Song in D” from the “Nevermind” recording sessions that has no lyrics. (“Sounds like another box set!” Grohl joked.) Butch said this during Saturday’s SiriusXM Nirvana Q&A session where Jon Stewart hosted a town hall type interview with Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl, and Butch Vig.

“Gallons of Rubbing Alcohol Flow Through the Strip” part 2

  • frank

^How could it be gallons part 2 if it was recorded before? Also, Gallons isnt an unheard song or anything.

  • toyotamanmike

I’m not saying that it’s a sequel, I’m saying that it’ll be like another Gallons. They’re both songs without lyrics, aren’t they? Gallons was never officially released here (in the US) until 2004, and I’d be surprised if this song doesn’t eventually get released.

Why did I bother posting? I knew someone would misunderstand.

  • Eric

Yeah, don’t bother posting next time. I actually feel like I lost a few iq points by reading your posts. Thanks!

  • Albert

    Correction gallons has lyrics.

  • Marley

Yeah I think Gallons has lyrics. I have the 1992 live at the Reading concert DVD of Nirvana’s and they performed it and Kurt sang so I guess it does have lyrics.

  • Frank

    Holy shit guys.

    Gallons has lyrics.
Gallons was released in europe on In utero
Gallons was NOT played at reading 92.

  • Frank

I’ve lost faith in Nirvana fans if the dont know the basic history of the songs.

  • missy

Come on guys, thats very disappointing that you know fuck all about
the band your supposed to be a fan of……

Great news but would rather hear Kurt’s screams.
I mean who’s gonna get excited by a John Lennon unreleased track without
vocals? No one. Still Butch ya bring it on.

  • Andrei

Toyota and Marley deserve medals for their idiocy.

I bet Butch is wrong and senility has officially set in for him.
