BILLY CORGAN TALKS ABOUT PLAYING “TO SHEILA” IN PRAGUE

Crestfallen.com: In Prague, the Smashing Pumpkins showed just how dynamic they could be by having Nicole take over drums, Jeff play bass and Mike on keys when you played To Sheila for the first time on this tour. What inspired this arrangement?

Billy: Pretty simple actually; a journalist reminded me how big an album ‘Adore’ was in the Czech Republic. So I thought it might do well to play ‘To Sheila’. Mike hopped on the keys, and I suggested Nicole play drums in honor of her father (also a drummer). Jeff jumped on the bass. That’s it.

  • Is he one?

Nicole’s drumming=terrible. Not a good idea. Pretty sure they won’t do it ever again. I hope so. Can’t kill that of a great song without remorse! 😉
