BILLY CORGAN SAYS RICK RUBIN PRODUCED “LET ME GIVE THE WORLD TO YOU” WILL BE RELEASED, CALLS ADORE A SOLO ALBUM

Billy Corgan revealed in a new interview with Crestfallen.com that the Rick Rubin produced version of “Let Me Give The World To You” from the Adore sessions will be released on the Adore reissue. He said it is ‘very nice.’ Corgan also discussed how people’s view of Adore have changed over time, “Adore was a solo album which maybe in time has been able to be seen that way.”

Corgan said he is proud of Adore but has bad memories from what it came out since it basically made him look like an idiot for going away from the Pumpkins formula. He said there are bands that stick to a formula for success that is good for business, but bad for their soul.

Adore is a masterpiece , one of Corgan’s finest work , in my opinion. The songs are beautiful and well written.

  • Andrei

Adore is his masterpiece, probably the most relevant and beautiful record he has ever written. That’s why I will always love Billy Corgan and I will always consider him as one of the best: he wrote Adore.

  • Alternadude

Adore is awesome but I can’t see it as his best work because It’s his most linear work. Still, definitely a masterpiece. No other songwriter covered here came close to achieving such a level of creativity and diversity.

It’s nice to see that people think Adore is a masterpiece, because it actually is.
Offtopic now,I believe that Rubin is so overrated.Rubin for new sabbath? Jack Endino would be a much better choice, even Jack White would be a better choice.

You guys see what Rick Rubin did with the last Metallica album? Yeah, Jack Endino would be the man!

I was highly disappointed with Adore when it first came out especially after Mellon Collie. I only liked “Ava Adore” because it was the closest thing to previous albums. However, over the years it has grown on me and I learned to appreciate it. Still one of my least favorite albums by them but good for listening when you want more easy-listening Pumpkins.

Adore is such an emotional record. It is unlike any other album I have ever heard.

What happened to the reissue of the aeroplane flies high?

  • Mayonaise

Rodrigo, many of the tracks from Aeroplane Flies High were featured on the Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness reissue.

Adore is my favorite SP album. So original.

Let Me Give The World to You… My God I love that song.

‘Adore’ is good stuff. An acquired taste for sure, but I love its darkness. Its their goth album in many ways.

  • Ike

Adore is my favorite Billy album, with Oceania probably #2. It was also my favorite SP tour; I love how he restructured the songs to be played live.

I, too, was disappointed by Adore when it was first released. Now I see that it was just 2-4 years or so ahead of its’ time, musically. If the Pumpkins had just stuck with their established sound for one more albums, then the timing would have been perfect for Adore.
